“I have but one candle of life to burn,
and I would rather burn it out
in a land filled with darkness
than in a land flooded with light.”

a physical representation of the heartbeat of God
During her pregnancies, my mom would dedicate her children to the service of the Lord. She called this her ‘Hannah Prayer’. When she was pregnant with me, she felt led one day to pray over me a simple prayer. She said “Lord, whoever is in my womb, boy or girl, if they happen to be a missionary, I pray that you will reveal it to them someday.”
Fast forward 9 years, I was sitting in a classroom and 2 missionaries came to talk to my class. As soon as they walked in, at that moment I heard God whisper “Africa”. Fast forward again 3 years, me and my mom had just finished our night-time devotionals when I shared that moment 3 years ago, that I felt God calling me to be a missionary in Africa. We prayed and that is when I fully surrendered myself to God.
My journey since, has been one of pursuing this call and following the path that would lead to touching hearts that needed to hear about the love of God. I have a deep love for children and have always found myself serving in all different kinds of ministries where children are involved. My passion is also to simply serve. At a young age, I knew the meaning of the name, Rebecca, which means “servant of God”. I took that meaning seriously and have asked God to allow me to serve Him in whatever way He desires.
I am in love with the heartbeat of God, and that is to spread the message of hope to the ends of the earth. God has kept and sustained me since the moment I was conceived. He had a purpose attached to my life and my goal is to hear from Him, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”
a place for my blogs, my thoughts, some words, inspiration
I have 3 kids programs I am running in town and in surrounding villages. We partner with each church for 3 months at a time where we do simple programs that help train Sunday School teachers. We then leave them with a children’s Bible in their local language as well as some resources so that they can continue the ministry.
I have also partnered with a pastor in a remote village about 2 hours away and started a literacy program for women. About 90% of women in the villages and poor communities do not know how to read or write.
I also partner with a local young women’s soccer team where we do a weekly devotional after their practices. Many of these young women’s backgrounds include abuse, prostitution, and abandonment. We encourage them by bringing them things like Bibles, sanitary products, snacks, clothing for practice, and other such things.
As more ministry arises, we do our best to partner with the local pastors and encourage them in any areas as best as we can.
